The similarity in both is going to be that protein binding is going to occur to send a signal. The difference is the type of protein and the location in which it binds. A repressive protein is going to bind at the operator site to prevent translation. That would be your negative feedback. For positive feedback, a transcription factor is required. This will bind at the promoter to signal for the initiation of transcription. I hope this helps.
