What is one issue preventing some people from realizing the "american dream"?

There are many reasons issues as to what is preventing people from realizing the American dream. The most prominent one is the economy, it has changed so much and is certainly not what i t used to be. Most people coming to America to live the American dream and even present Americans have a hard time keeping up in the economy where productivity, and mass production are taking over but the pay is dropping drastically, thus making it difficult for people to thrive.
