Within the study of English/Language Arts, the term "Compare" is where you find similarities between two or more (like) things versus the term "Contrast", where you find differences in two or more like things, people, animals, etc.
Example of Compare: - Alexander has a similar personality to his older brother Ethan who likes to socialize with people, be the life of the party, and always attends social events in town to network.
Example of Contrast: - Alexander is unlike (the complete opposite to) his younger brother Tristan who does not like to socialize with people, but enjoys going to the movies and other events alone.
