APA (American Psychological Association) is a guideline for writing papers. It's generally used by students in psychology, education and social sciences. I had to strictly adhere to APA format in graduate school earning my Masters in Education. You will need it to organize your texts and reference your citations. APA Formatting is most commonly used among social sciences- and it stands for American Psychological Association). It is literally a guideline that shows you how to format essays/papers- in accordance with the standards that the APA has outlined. It covers everything from spacing, to citation of sources, as well as formatting of the document itself.
