Hi there! I would start by taking some still life and figure drawing classes, which will help you nail down anatomy and value.
As for colleges, a lot of community colleges offer associates in art, I'd start with those as they'll be fine for the basics, then look into art schools and the type of art that comes from them, as each college actually encourages a style. Look up your favorite artists and what colleges they come from. If there's a running trend, then that's probably where you want to go. After you've done that, give them a call and ask them what you need to get into their school. Usually they'll set up a portfolio review to help you, but that's not a guarantee.
You should also be working on your portfolio. The best thing to do is make a majority of your portfolio pieces more realistic to show off your skill, rather than use it to show off your style, but again, a college adviser can help better with that than I can.
