Why is human services important?

I can think of a few reasons- depends on the purpose of your paper-- very generally speaking, human services jobs provide a service to help an individual (such as a therapist), and/or community as a whole (child welfare). These jobs are important because they contribute to our well being, especially in times of need. Most importantly Human Services fields work with people and the community to achieve self sufficiency, advocate for themselves, learn what resources are available and attain a higher quality of life.
