how to answer questions to a passage you cant understand

okay so every time they make me read something about science or something that’s just plain confusing i can never seem to focus. I can read the thing over and over and still have no idea what i read so i just end up choosing any answer for the questions. This is why reading is really low for me.

In the science passages, key words and key terms are explained in the passage. Look for those terms in the questions, and then you will locate them (and the answers) in the passage.

You may want to start by being tested for dyslexia or some other learning disability. If that has been ruled out, then begin by looking up the meaning of any words that you don't know the meaning of. Then as you read ask yourself, "What is the main idea of this passage? Focus on understanding one sentence at a time. Once you understand each sentence, then you can put them in context.
