Just divide the fraction using your calculator or by hand and then move the decimal two places to the right to get the percentage, e.g., 1/2 = .5 or 50%. Alternatively, multiply the denominator by a number that will make the denominator close to 100. In this case that number would be 50. Do the same to the numerator (multiply by 50) to get the percentage, i.e., 50/100 is 50%.
