When using the French word "sans" in an English sentence, should I use italics?

In the sentence, below, I am using the French word *sans* to mean *without*. Should sans be italicized? It is not necessary to use italics when using sans in English because it is an English word as defined in the Merriam Webster Unabridged Dictionary.

The etymology of the word, according to the dictionary is: "Middle English saun, sans, from Anglo-French san, sanz, modification of Latin sinewithout — more at SUNDER"
