I believe that movie and TV coroners are shown eating to convey to the audience that these people are professionals, immune to any considerations of personal empathy. They just have a job to do, and if they need to work through their lunch hour, they're not going to get queasy about it. BTW, if you're assuming that the corpse on the dissecting table has an unpleasant aroma, it's cleaned up well before the coroner sees it.
