Tutin toxin does not have one special enzyme that always reacts with it. Instead, it is broken down by the liver detoxification enzymes. First, cytochrome P450 enzymes modify tutin (Phase I metabolism). Then, other enzymes like GST, UGT, and SULT attach chemical groups (Phase II metabolism) to make it easier for the body to excrete.
