Ratio on NaOH used in this equation

Al2(SO3)3 + 6NaOH -> 3 Na2SO3 + 2 Al(OH)3

 

why do you use 6 mole of NaOH to only 1 mole of Na2(SO3)3 when determining moles of NaOH used? Why isn't it 6 moles of NaOH to 3 Moles of Na2(SO3)3

According to the correctly balanced equation, the stoichiometric ratio of NaOH to Na₂(SO₃)₃ is 6:3 or 2:1.  So, you are correct, it is 6 moles NaOH to 3 moles of Na₂(SO₃)₃.  Who said it was 6 moles NaOH to 1 mole Na₂(SO₃)₃?
