Sickle cell anemia is a recessive genetic blood disorder. The allele for sickle red blood cells is codominant to the normal allele. Cross a carrier male with a carrier female. List the genotype and phenotype ratios. Hint: codominant means they both show up.

Carrier male=Ss
Carrier female=Ss
Crossing using a Punnet Square: 25% would be homozygous dominant (no sickle cell), 50% would be carriers (codominant), and 25% homozygous recessive ( full sickle cell)
Genotypes: 1 offspring SS, 2 offspring Ss, and 1 offspring ss
Phenotypes: 1 offspring no sickle cell, 2 offspring are carriers (codominant), and 1 offspring has full sickle cell
