What grows on an alkaline peptone broth apart from Vibrio?

I have done an experiment where growth on an alkaline peptone was monitored and then we innoculated a TCBS media, however no growth occured on the TCBS media so i was wondering what else could potentially grow on an alkaline peptone broth

That seems strange since both media seem to support and be selective for Vibrio species.  You should have gotten growth on both if you were innoculating with Vibrio.  If not, then you need to find another medium that supports your species. You didn't mention what that was/is.
