This is a linear function for the form f(x) = ax+b , the function is
p(x) = 4x , b=0 and the y intercept ( 0,b) is the point ( 0,0)
Therefore the line passes through the origin. In order to graph a straight line you need a minimum of two points. You already have
one of them the origin (0,0). a second point can be obtained by choosing on the x axis say x =2 and substituting into the equation
p(x)=4x =4(2)=8. the second point is therefore (2,8)
Plot the two points on the graph and join them by a straight line and you get the graph of the line. Also note that you can choose other point say x=1 and p(x)=4(1) =4 and the point is (1,4). Any point you obtain by substituting a value of x to get p(x) is located on the line.
