Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

My algebra experience dates back to my high school years ago. I have been practicing and tutoring this material for a long time. Besides, my every day work in engineering involves some form of algebra problem solving. I believe that I am best fit to help your son. If you look up my resources, you will find numerous problems in algebra that I have solved for struggling students.

Algebra 2

My algebra skills has been developed over years of knowledge and practice. I have a special way of teaching algebra that suits student's needs and help them understand the material in depth.

Calculus

I am have a vast knowledge in Calculus that I developed over many years of experience in the field of math and Engineering.

Civil Engineering

I am a licensed Civil Engineer in the state of Maine with over 22 years of experience in the field. I am proficient with structural, environmental, and transportation Civil Engineering. I currently tutor and oversee work of new graduates in civil and structural engineering.

Elementary (K-6th)

My vast understanding of math, sciences, and English,as well as, many other elementary classes subjects; in addition to my long continuing educational career and over 22 years of experience in the field of civil engineering, qualifies me to teach any elementary subject between K-6th grade. I am very patient with students of all ages and have a teaching method tailored to suit everybody.

Physics

I am a professional engineer and I have been working with physics and engineering theories most of my academic and professional career. I have a proven unique way of teaching the subject matter that has worked for many students in the past, and I am confident that I can also help you.

Prealgebra

As an active practicing engineer for many years, and a career that dates back over 30 years ago, prealgebra has been an everyday material that I need to know in almost all my every day problem solving. Add to that the numerous hours I spent tutoring this math subject one on one to many students.

SAT Math

As a practicing engineer since the late eighties, I have been acquiring all sorts of SAT problem solving skills in math, and knowledge in English. I have also tutored many students in SAT math and helped them raise their test scores.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry is one of my favorite math subjects, and knowing it well is part of my career requirements. I have been exposed to it since my early days in high school, in college, and through a long engineering career dating back to 1988. Every subject in engineering from Calculus to Physics to Statics to Mechanics of Materials and others requires some form of trigonometric knowledge in problem solving. Knowing the trigonometric circle and its functions is imperative to an engineer problem solving skills and success. I am good at it because it is part of my engineering life, and I stumble upon it often enough in my every day work assignments.

Volleyball

I have been playing volleyball since I was 7 years old. I have played on many different teams throughout my life including school and college teams. I also played on intramurals and co-ed teams which include males and females. I am currently the captain of my men team in the Lewiston Maine league. I have served as a referee for many games. I also have tutored many people in understanding the rules of volleyball in addition to physical play. I love to tutor people in volleyball as it is one of may passions.

Attentive and knowledgeble

Roger taught me some graphing of circular functions and Trigonometric Identities. I also like how he made sure I understood the problem before we moved on to the next problem and I didn't feel rushed. Great tutor!
