Question

Why do some disaccharides give positive Benedict's tests while other disaccharides give negative tests ?

Benedict's test is for the presence of reducing sugars.  If you have a reducing sugar it will give a positive test and will form a reddish precipitate.  If you have a non-reducing sugar, there will be no reaction.  Does that answer your question?
