A cylindrical well 7 m in diameter and 33 m deep is dug and the earth removed is spread evenly on a rectangular plot of land measuring 44 m * 25 m to form a platform of height h. Find the value of h correct to 2 decimal places.

ππThe volume of the earth removed from the cylinder is V = pi D H , V = pi x 7m x 33m = 725.71 m³

 

The volume of the rectangular land is 44m x 25m x h = 725.71m³

 

Solving for h =[ (725.71m³)/ (44m x 25m)]= 0.66 m (Two decimal places)
