asked 09/25/16Can you help me write a new thesis using the topics that I told you in the description?
I'm in 9th grade and I need help with my 5 paragraph research paper. I wrote my research paper on about The United Kingdom. My topics were these: Physical Geography, History, and Culture. The thesis is this: "The United Kingdom is a small European country that is, for its size, one of the most densely populated places on earth." But much later after I did my intro paragraph and started working on my first body paragraph I found out that England is the part that's densely populated and everywhere else in the UK isn't densely populated. So it's hard to relate all of my writing to this because all of the UK isn't densely populated and only England is. So my question is this: Can you help me write a new thesis using the topics that I told you?
I hope you can get back to me soon.
Thanks
(:

Hi Gabriel!
This sounds like an interesting paper, and you have three clear topics already outlined--great work!
Remember, your thesis should tie all of your topics together. A thesis that only mentions population density might make it difficult for you to tie in the research about culture and geography. (It is true that England is more densely populated than other countries in the U.K., but it's also true that the London area is the most densely populated area of England--working with density averages is totally fine!)
Think about your three topics: do they all connect to population density? If so, how? If not, is there another main feature of the U.K. that connects them? Answering these questions will help you refine your thesis so that it shows your reader clearly what you plan to address in this paper, and why.
Good luck with this essay! :-) If you'd like to get some more help with your writing, feel free to contact me for a tutoring session.
Best,
Jessica
