In humans the allelic genes B and b control hair color. The allele B is dominant for dark hair and the recessive allele b results in blond hair.
a. What two genotypes result in dark hair?
b. What genotype results in blond hair?
c. If a man that has a genotype of BB marries a woman with a genotype of bb, what is the probability they will have a child with blond hair? (Show your work, i.e. want to see a Punnett Square.)

 

What are the genotypes of the following individuals in the pedigree.
a. Tom
b. Mary
c. Mary’s mother

Tom and Mary are expecting their second child. What are the chances that their child will have blue eyes? (Show all work, i.e. Punnett Square.)

a.  BB and Bb result in dark hair.

b.  bb results in blond hair.

c.  None. Genotype BB produces B gametes and the genotype bb produces b gametes. All the offspring will have Bb      genotype which results in dark hair phenotype.
