In terms of structure not bad except for your final word.  If you want past tense you can say "I was thinking" or "I thought."  My English teacher may she rest in peace would have wanted me to use "I thought".  

 

In terns of structure not bad except I think you are okay until the word "and".    After that i am not sure what you  are trying to say. 

 

First the contraction for "it is"-- it's.  

 

What do you mean by "more gistorical."  If you are reading history it is all historical.  I wonder if you wanted to express something different there.

I spend a lot of time reading about the German reunification, and it's more historical than I was thinking.

 

Two caps needed, I and German.  Comma before and to separate two independent clauses.  Thinking should be used instead of think because it is a past progressive action, happening in the limited past while something else is happening.
