Method 1: We are adding .35 nine times because we need to add her distance for each day to find the total distance that she ran.
In other words, we are solving: Distance run on day 1+Distance run on day 2+Distance run on day 3+Distance run on day 4+Distance run on day 5+Distance run on day 6+Distance run on day 7+Distance run on day 8+Distance run on day 9. Since she ran 0.35 each day, we can solve: Add 0.35+0.35+0.35+0.35+0.35+0.35+0.35+0.35+0.35=3.15
Method 2: We can also find the answer by multiplying 9*0.35=3.15 because she ran 0.35 miles per day. Another way of saying that is she ran 0.35 miles nine times.
