Glucose! It is the very first step in fueling our bodies and our bloodstream is how it gets transported to where it needs to go. Although ADP and ATP are also very much necessary energy sources for a wide array of bodily functions, they cannot occur if glucose is not present. Proteins are a byproduct of translation from mRNA to amino acid chains. They help our bodies perform specific tasks based on their structure. When digested, the amino acid chains of the protein we have eaten are broken down into their basic amino acid units and integrated into our own protein chains once translation occurs.
