- Carbohydrates: These are sugars and starches that provide energy for your body. They’re the main fuel for your brain and muscles.
- Proteins: Made of building blocks called amino acids, proteins help build and repair tissues, like muscles and skin. They also do a lot of the work inside cells, like carrying oxygen in your blood.
- Lipids: These are fats and oils. They store energy for later use, help keep your body warm, and make up the membranes that surround your cells, keeping everything inside.
- Nucleic Acids: DNA and RNA are types of nucleic acids. They carry your genetic information, which determines your traits and helps guide the creation of proteins that your body needs.
