What intrigues me is the Post-modern theory of Deconstruction that still allows for historical engagement.
What can be learned from researching an author?
The first step of research is the important questions. While researching an author, consider the connections between the author's background and what they write about. How will information about where, when and how the author lived relate to their specialized genres and style?

Hi! This sounds like a question for you to consider while you are researching the author. What author have you been tasked to research? When doing the research, you can start with facts like what time period/era/literary movement they wrote in, where were they writing and how did that setting affect their writing, what other jobs or passions they had they are prevalent in their writing. You can also research writers they were close with who may have influenced them, who their teachers/mentors were. The writer's environment will tell you a lot about their books and the subjects they chose to write about.
