It is all about telling a story. Start by writing your ideas down and then form a story around it. Use what is available to you. You live by the beach, use the beach, use the city streets, use what you have and what you know to tell a story. The rest will follow.

I suggest beginning by listing which resources you have available to you - equipment, locations, actors. Understanding what you have access to and identifying limitations will allow you to flourish.

For an affordable route, I suggest borrowing contemporary film production books from the library. Pay special note to cinematography, as understanding the camera and basic composition will move you in the right direction.
