An animal is a kind of organism, and it one of the three kingdoms of life. Most organisms that are not a plant, fungus, or bacterium are classified as animals. So yes, humans are animals (as are fish, monkeys, insects, jellyfish, and birds).
Being human, however, is a concept that we (humans) invented to explain our perception of the world. It reflects the way we experience emotion, make decisions, and think about larger concepts. Being human is about being a human. So unless you alter an animal so that it expresses traits that we associate with humans (like what we do with animal characters in cartoons), an animal is not human.

So, humans and animals are classified with similar traits but animals are not humans and humans are classified as animals by a different definition than the word animal used in daily conversation?02/01/24
