I applied to three medical colleges and did not get accepted into any.
I landed a job as a medical scribe where I have had the privilege of working beside two urologists and a PCP. After reapplying I was accepted.
Here are my suggestions as to how to get into medical school:
- Do not give up. This is an extensive/expensive process. You must be committed.
- Experience. You want to work somewhere where you work with a physician. This gets you accumulated to medical jargon and provides you with a supportive member that has been in your shoes before
- Reach out. If there is a specific school, or a few, email them. Medical colleges almost always have an outreach program with a team specified to help students with admission. This has been the most helpful for me. I needed help with my MCAT and decided to reach out to one of the colleges I was applying for, and they offered me two summer internships with MCAT prep and various meetings with medical professionals.
You got this, good luck!
