I would set this up as a ratio. If they travel 50 miles in 90 minutes, they travel 80 miles in how many minutes? Call the unknown minutes t. Then

50/90=80/t

Cross multiply to get 50t=7200

Divide both sides by 50 to get t=144 minutes.
