the ratio of the number of adults to the number of student at the dance is 1:10 if there are 126 more students than adults, how many adults have attended the dance

Let the number of adult be x

then the number of students will be 10x

we have 126 more students then adults it means the difference between there numbers is given which is 9x

so 9x=126

x=14

so the number of adults is 14
