(g-f)(x) = g(x) - f(x)
(g-f)(6) = g(6) - f(6)
for example, if g(x) = x^2 and f(x) = 1/x
then g(x) - f(x) = x^2 - 1/x
and g(6)-g(6) = 36-1/6 = 35 5/6
or g(x)-f(x) = (x^3-1)/x = (6^3-1)/6 = (216-1)/6 = 215/6 = 35 5/6
