The site of Lepenski Vir was inhabited before and during the shift from the Mesolithic into the Neolithic. Before the Neolithic, people were (generally) not agriculturalists. Archaeologists excavating the area have found indications of permanent and semi-permanent settlements dated to the Mesolithic. It is widely accepted that these settlements along the river subsisted on fish. Based on this, I would say A. A small sedentary village for people who ate river and forest foods.
