From that point, the dog can enjoy an area equal to 3/4 of a circle with a radius of 60'

Since the Area of a circle = π r², then 3.14 x 60'² x 3/4 = 8,480f²

 

However, the 60' chain extends 20' beyond the edge of the building, so the dog can enjoy an additional area which is 1/4 of a circle with a radius of 20'

Since the Area of a circle = π r², then 3.14 x 20'² x 1/4 = 314f²

 

So, the total area will be 8,794f²
