What is a benefit of plant ancestors moving to colonize land?

I think its between A and D because there was more water available in the oceans and more competition is probably a disadvantage for most organisms. Im not sure if it the question is asking about a benefit for just plants or for every organism in general?

No, I think it's referring to earliest colonizing plants, specifically. So it must be A (Suleiman, there couldn't have been any terrestrial herbivores yet!)

And you are right, water is only intermittently available on land, and, since we're talking the first ones to emerge from the water, there wouldn't have been any competition.
