None of these! Lichens are a symbiosis between a fungus and either an alga or a cyanobacterium. Those are fungus, plant, and bacterium respectively, though I suppose cyanos might be designated archaea.
You might want to probe speciation on lichens: the symbiosis is not obligatory for all possible partnerings, though that's usually where they are found, so to speak.
And if you think that losing independence is a bad thing, consider that the majority (though not the totality) of plant species preferentially adopt fungal partners (mycorrhizae).

Thank you but unfortunately i must pick one of the above answers. In your opinion which one would be most correct? I think is letter C because you mentioned how it has to be symbiosis between a fungus and either an alga or a cyanobacterium. and how cyanos might be designated archaea? does this sound correct?03/06/23
