So multiply the various sets of sides and add the sum of the six sides' areas, Payton. If you calculated a volume instead, you have solved the wrong problem -- you were thinking "inside the box", perhaps?

Hi Payton B, look up the formula for the surface area of a Rectangular Prism, get rectangular tissue box and a ruler, measure the height, the width, and the length of the container then use the measurements in the Formula for the Surface Area of a Rectangular Prism and see what you get.
