Did it provide you with an example of a graph? Or expect you to sketch it out yourself? Typically you would expect to see a negative linear relationship between these variables …. In the lowest layer of Earth’s atmosphere where most of our weather occurs, temperature decreases as altitude increases.

So as the altitude increases, the temperature will get lower in the troposphere and mesosphere. Plotting y values will begin high near the top of your graph with a downward slope to the right, showing the increasing altitude on the x axis.
