asked 01/25/23Gavin is building a fence. He needs to put a post every 4 1/2 feet. If a new segment of the fence has 15 new posts, using the last post from the previous section of fence as a starting point, howl ong is the new segment of fence?
1/15x = 4 1/2

First, you figure out your equation. There are two equations that both work to solve this.
Equation 1: 1/15X=4.5
Equation 2 (a proportion): 4.5 feet/1 post = X feet/15 posts
