This problem is asking for the area that he will need to cover with concrete pavers. Since the formula for the area of a trapezoid is [(b1 + b2)h]/2, in which b1 is one base, b2 is the other base, and h is the height, the solution to this problem becomes [(10 + 14)13]/2 = (24)(13)/2 = 156 ft2 of concrete pavers.
