0.25x + 0.2(x + 6) = 3
Use distribution rule to elim parentheses.
0.25x + 0.2x + 1.2 = 3
Combine like terms: 0.45x + 1.2 = 3
Subtract 1.2 from both sides: 0.45x = 1.8
Divide both sides by 0.45: x = 4
Check: 0.25(4) +0.2(4 + 6) → 1 + 2 = 3
