Karl Marx discusses alienation from species-being, suggesting that human potential is slipping away. An example is that the rise of new technology is taking positions from human workers due to AI technology, which has a significant impact on the engineering field, as well as businesses that require content, copywriting, and editing. Most companies are now using AI to help with writing, instead of actual human writers.

With jobs and education now being remote, people have fewer opportunities to make social connections. For instance, I began college in 2019, taking in-person classes. However, when the pandemic struck, we all had to switch to virtual courses, resulting in reduced socialization, which is also the case when job opportunities are scarce.
