Lysosomes they lyse-they splice-they -chop they dice- think of it as like they cleanse and do away with things in the cells that are not as necessary.

This is not to be confused with ribosomes.

You can compare and contrast this with ribosomes which are areas of protein synthesis in cells, think or R pRotein has the letter R in it and so do Ribosomes.

This is one way to distinguish between these two cellular organelles that often get confusing.
