f(x) = 8x + 7
and
g(x) = 9x − 8.
Find the function.
f/g
(f/g)(x) = 8x+7/9x-8



Find the domain. (Enter your answer using interval notation.)

The only restriction on the domain is that the denominator can not equal 0, so we cannot have 

 

9x - 8 = 0  ==>  x = 8/9

 

In interval notation this is (-∞,8/9) UNION (8/9,∞)
