Because the man is heterozygous for type A, he must have one A allele and one O allele, his genotype is AO. Because the woman has type O blood, she must have 2 O alleles, her genotype is OO. When these 2 individuals have a child, their child will randomly inherit 1 allele from the father and 1 allele from the mother. The child will automatically receive the O allele from the mother, however when looking at the father, the child can either receive the A allele (50% chance) or the O allele (O% chance). Thus the probability that the child has type A blood (AO) is 50% while the probability that the child has type O blood (OO) is 50%.10/12/22
