Joseph, this is simpler than it seems, I promise!
How many marbles are not white? We have 14 red and 10 green, so 24. How many marbles are there altogether? Add the 16 white and we get 40.
So, our probability is 24/40. We always reduce this to lowest terms, though, so the answer is 3/5.

My mistake! I left out the 8 black marbles! We have 32 marbles that are not white and 48 total, so our probability is 32/48. Reduce to lowest terms and we get 2/3.
