Who searched for the fountain of youth?
The conquistador Juan Ponce de Leon, the Spanish explorer and first governor of Puerto Rico searched for the fountain of youth. It was supposed to be a mythical spring which was said to bring eternal youth.
Ponce de Leon had initially begun on his travels in search of gold. Then he began hearing stories from the natives about the fabled spring of never-ending youth.
