A man needs to climb 20 flights of stairs to get to his apartment door. If he climbs 4 flights of stairs per 15 minutes of walking, how many minutes will it take him to get to his door?

15 minutes = x minutes

(4/15)= (.266)= ~.27 flight of stairs a minute

20 flight of stairs / .2666 flight of stairs a minute= about 75 minutes

This is correct except I don't like the fact that you used your calculator.

Doing it this way is much more elegant.

4x= 15(20)

x = 15(20)/4 = 15(5) = 75
