The commutative property of multiplication is that A*B = B*A. To check this, write
(-8/9) * (-17/19) = (-8)*(-17) / (9*19) = 136 / 171
(-17/19) * (-8/9) = (-17)*(-8) / (19*9) = 136 / 171
The answer is the same regardless of which order you do the multiplication in.
