What is an example of role strain?

According to Schaefer (2022), role strain is the difficulty that arises when the same social position imposes conflicting demands and expectations. Which formative assessment tool and teaching strategy would you use as a tutor to better help a student understand this concept? Explain your tutoring strategy below.

Greetings!

To teach the term role strain I would utilize mental images to the student. We would break down the term; role such as a Mother, and strain such as a difficulty or challenging task. Then we will formulate an image. An image I used when studying Psychology and this term is a Mother with octopus arms making lunches for her children, helping one child with their homework, talking on the phone, feeding the newborn and other related activities. This shows how a single role, such as being a Mother, has many tasks that can be daunting to the individual.
