Good question! Working with a tutor with whom you feel at ease, whether online or in person, can make a massive difference in your growth in appropriate skills, mindset, confidence, and even enjoyment of this challenging English ACT (and or Essay portion of the ACT) test. Meeting a tutor online is similar to (yet possibly even better than) in-person tutoring, in that trust is something generally built up over time. Once that clear working relationship with your tutor exists, the aids provided by Wyzant, Google Suite, and curriculum common to your tutor and you all vastly enhance your virtual meetings. The bottom line is the skills needed for the English ACT test are limited in its being a standardized test; thus they are patterned and learnable. If you're referring to the written/essay portion of the ACT, the same applies. Once you understand the context of the essay, writing it well is a skill and craft at which you can grow quickly with exciting, clear results. Working online is also less distracting and typically more flexible than in-person meetings, which helps optimize your ability to focus. I hope this answers your question! I would be honored to partner with you in reaching and exceeding your goals! :)

Yes, of course, it can with the correct instruction, which I will provide.
With the right tutor teaching you the strategies of writing and responding to the ACT expectations, online tutoring can absolutely be helpful! I feel like it would be even better than in person, because you both can access the writing sample at the same time and, with Google docs, make comments and edits as suggestions. When things get written on paper it has a more official feel, but online could allow for more flexible thinking in my opinion!

Absolutely! my own experience has proven to me that students with online tutoring can expect a definite increase in scores. The combination of knowing what to expect and overall test familiarity produces connections between student abiities and the test itself. This increased knowledge results in significantly higher test taker confidence. This also tackles the time challenge. online work on the ACT cuts out the distraction factor and has the appeal of flexible scheduling. The brain exists to solve problems and uses the same memory systems used to learn any new tasks, from game plays to songs. Practice definitely ensures improved scores and better ability to focus on specifics.
